Grace Hospice
IDI Learning Space
Welcome to our Grace IDI space!
Each month we’ll play with IDI learning— noticing how our personal background + identities shape how we make sense of the world, while getting curious about how other people see the world from the background + identities they’re coming from. (It’s a both/and!)
Thinking about Quality-
what does ‘quality’ mean to you?
where did you learn how to show quality in your work? (possibilities…school, trainings, previous jobs, childhood, etc.)
do you ever run into conflict or disagreement with coworkers based on different understandings of quality? think of a recent example, how did it resolve?
what happens when your perspective of quality is ignored?
Moving thru Minimization
From our IDI assessment work in 2025, we learned that Grace Hospice as an organization shows up in minimization. This means when thinking about similarities and differences, Grace’s work culture tends to assume ‘we’re all mostly the same’.
Minimization is awesome for building connections— we notice what we can relate to in others and create a bond (I have that Stanley water bottle too! My granddaughter plays soccer too! I’m in my 30’s too! I work in hospice too! etc…).
Grace’s growth area is to develop more awareness of the why behind workplace norms (sameness), so we can better appreciate where differences can make a difference.
