BothAnd BookClub –Strong Ground: The Lessons of Daring Leadership, the Tenacity of Paradox, and the Wisdom of the Human Spirit, by Brene Brown

This BothAnd BookClub: Strong Ground: The Lessons of Daring Leadership, the Tenacity of Paradox, and the Wisdom of the Human Spirit by Brene Brown, is a guided space to slow down and build the muscles she names: respectful and difficult conversations, smart prioritization over reactivity, strategic risk-taking, and paradoxical thinking. We’ll explore what it means to find our “strong ground”—a steadiness within our self and capacity to create meaningful change.

Come as often as you're available, reading ahead is not required! Find community with a group of folks who feel the same pull to find support & discover something new in their leadership.

No pressure to be fully caught up reading the book to participate! Our conversations may include occasional spoilers—but think of them as invitations to dive deeper without added stress. Show up as you are. Come once, twice, or join all our sessions- do whatever provides you the intentional space you need!

Get a copy of Strong Ground from your local library, or consider supporting a local bookstore if you choose to purchase.

This is for you if:

  • You’re leading (or hoping to lead) in any context—workplace, community, family—and want to be both effective & deeply human.

  • You’re tired of hustle, burnout, and reactivity and want practical ways to prioritize, set boundaries, and respond with intention.

  • You’re navigating hard conversations or conflict and want more courage, clarity, and compassion in how you show up.

  • You’re curious about paradox—how to hold stability & change, performance & wholeheartedness, accountability & empathy.
